When she takes care of her designs like her babies!

I am sure that I can not explain in words how much she cares and enjoys from the moment she thinks about creating a design to the time she is done making it. Maybe these pictures could explain just a bit of it.

My first pro shooting

Jelena is an amazing 19 year old girl from Syrbia, taking a vacation in US. We immediately became friends. I was really nervous at the beginning to shoot her since it was my first pro shooting session, but she made really easy for me. Then, little by little I started taking over and I was able to apply all the ideas that I had for my pictures. In overall, I am really happy for the result and I see myself doing this more and more. CHEERS!

Afsi

This is my first practice using external flash in photography without any help. I was really excited! Although I could take some cool pictures, I think I need a lot of practice. I have to confess that flash photography is not as easy as I thought!

Bring back a photo to life!

Editing a photo sometimes satisfy me more than even taking it. Although the original version of following pictures were really good, but the post editing work on them by me, totally made them different. These pictures were taken by students from Engineers Without Borders (EWB)-San Diego State University chapter in their trip to Tajeras, Honduras in January 2011 for the clean water project that they have there. As a member (and the fundraiser) of this awesome organization, I decided to edit some of the pictures for the video clip that we were preparing for Engineering Council Banquet at SDSU.

Louisville , Kentucky with a really good friend

Louisville , Kentucky is one of the places that I wouldn't even imagine traveling to, at least anytime soon, specially with all the places that are still unchecked in my list. But thanks to the GREAT Engineers Without Borders conference, we got the chance to go visit it there. I took a lot of picture that I would try to upload them eventually, but here is one of the pictures that is so far my favorite. It is my favorite since I am learning to set up everything on my camera and get good shots, basically I am getting very comfortable with my camera. It's also my favorite because of the person in this picture. Beside being a very good friend, she is one of the most inspiring persons that I've ever met. Her desire to have a better world and her endless energy to make things work always inspires me and gives me motivation to do the things that I want to do. I could totally see her very successful in her life, much more than how she is right now.

I love taking pictures at night, and even though I still have to practice a lot and I have to learn a lot more, thanks to my dear friend, I was able to take these pictures :)
I feel I am alive when I take a good picture! lol

The first day of photography

Waking up in the morning, I was ready to go to a nice place and start taking my first official pictures! I was so excited to take my pictures and upload them and show them to my friends and feel proud! I knew the place that I chose, Down Town San Diego, is a very beautiful place that no matter what, I'm gonna have a lot of nice and interesting pictures. But as soon as parked my car and started walking around, everything turned so ugly and NOT interesting! for half an hour I couldn't find a single interesting subject to take a picture of. I started feeling so disappointed: Maybe I am not meant to do this, maybe this is not for me, I knew that I don't have any artistic character, this is absolutely a mistake, why did I even come here, there is nothing here. Suddenly I caught myself sending negative energies all around and start thinking positively : It's fine, It's just your first time, No one was born photographer, It's just a practice, you don't have to show the pictures to anyone, just go for it and have fun.

It's amazing to see how just changing your point of view from negative to positive can make everything more pleasant and how it could give you a better result!
